Director of Research

Tony North has thirty years’ experience working and studying in the fields of psychology and education.

In 1988 he received a first class BSc degree in Psychology from the University
of Nottingham. He then worked for several years both as a clinical psychologist working in the area of adult mental health and as a research assistant on studies of dementia and child language disorders.

Tony returned to academia and in 1994 received a Masters in Education from Manchester University. After this he went to the USA to study for a Masters in Developmental Psychology at Penn State University, focusing on gender, emotion and moral development. He graduated in 1997 and went on to take a minor in educational theory.

For the next two years Tony taught history in a secondary school before returning to the UK in 2001. Here he continued to work in education, and since 2004 he has run a business, Time Trips, designing and delivering creative history and science workshops for schools.
